We desire to BUILD God’s kingdom BEYOND what happens on a Sunday morning. Meaning we want to send God’s word and His blessing wherever we can to whoever we can. Whether it’s a person searching for life-purpose in a prison cell who may not have the opportunity to join a church family or someone in desperate need of basic life-essentials like food, water or clothing - the church is absolutely called to partner with them and serve their life and their needs.

2019 GOAL

Learn about the five pillars of Building Beyond below...

Discovery Phase...

Now in the Discovery Phase, current TDC resident Jordan Ramsay has earned the privilege to work outside the Dream Center on weekdays, earning a steady paycheck for the first time in years. That will be the seed he uses to launch the rest of his life post-graduation. Other real-time training Jordan is going through includes budgeting, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. Our goal is not to just help men get clean but to also provide them with life skills that will help them lead healthy, productive lives upon completion.

By supporting Building Beyond, you are helping create opportunities for Jordan and other men like him that need our help overcoming life-controlling issues like drug addiction, abuse and depression. All services are provided free of charge.

Mercy Ministries - providing housing, food, clothing, medical supplies & care for those who are unable to secure the most basic of needs.

Ending Bible Poverty - purchasing bibles that go toward the 90% of Burundian Christians who currently do not have one simply because they cannot afford to buy one.

‘IMUHIRA’ - ‘I’m at home.’ - a transformative project which will create more than just a place for orphans to be taken off the street. Through IMUHIRA each child will receive a home, a family, an education, healthcare and a future as the son or daughter God sees them to be.

HELP - providing a place to live for five months; allowing them to separate themselves from the surroundings that contribute to their struggles.

HOPE - walking each participant through a curriculum designed to teach them that they are not beyond redemption: physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

HEALING - presenting opportunity to learn practical and relational life skills. As well as, facilitating opportunities to experience restoration between themselves and their families.

MONTHLY VISITS - regular worship and teaching times with the pastors and leadership of Journey Church, held in the dedicated BFA wing of the Vandalia facility.

CHAPEL SERVICES - presenting the gospel to those outside of the BFA program; held quarterly in the multi-faith chapel space within the prison.

YARD JAMS - an event in which the entire population is given the opportunity to attend. Musical acts, the JC worship team and a cohort of pastors all converge on the facility to share the love of Jesus and the chance to receive salvation.

SCHOLARSHIPS - financial assistance that will help them to achieve their financial goals, in part and/or in whole, through a fund specifically set up to assist them.

RESOURCE - preparing teams with training materials prior to their departure that will ensure a successful missions trip experience. While also providing for practical needs that are required while on the field.

FIRST RESPONSE - donating toward the efforts of reputable organizations that are at ground zero of natural disasters, national emergencies and tragedies. While we may not have the ability to be present in the recovery efforts, it’s our heart to support them.

CHURCH PLANTS - supporting those who have obeyed the call to begin a faith community wherever God has led them. By living the blessed-life as a church family, we will pour into these efforts with financial gifts, equipment and administrative support.

COMMUNITY RESOURCE - a chicken coop in Belize, a pastors conference in Jamaica, an outreach to the homeless of St. Louis or any need that may land on the heart of our church. We stand ready to build His kingdom in ways that aren’t limited to conventional projects.

A 'BUILDER' is an individual or family who prayerfully commits to give over and above their tithe to build beyond the walls of Journey Church.
